Tell us a little about your story?
My story, Most Wonderful Time, is the third book in the Lewis Family series. Gabe Lewis is a fan of the Christmas season and the joy it brings. When he realizes his new coworker Shanée Mitchell isn’t a fan, he sets out to change her mind. The whole collection celebrates our men and women serving in the Armed Forces as each story has a character that is in the military or a veteran. In my story, Shanée is an Air Force vet.
What is your writing process like?
I’m a total pantser and do not use an outline to start the story. I start with an idea and from there, I spend time with the characters. Get to know them, what they look like, what makes them tick, you know the standard questions. 🙂 Once I feel I know them, I start writing the story and see where it takes me.
What would be the verse that fits your story and why?
2 Corinthians 12:9, “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” (KJV) is the verse that most fits the story. Shanée deals with some chronic health issues and learning this is part of her journey.
What’s a normal writing day like for you?
I do some admin type work in the morning for a couple of hours. Then I write at least an hour before lunch, break, and then write until I hit my word goal. If I meet it and still have time leftover to write, I’ll exceed it for those days when life throws everything at me. Nowadays though, you’ll see me working on revisions and not a first rough draft.
Who would you cast to play the characters in your book?
For Most Wonderful Time, I pictured Charles Michael Davis for Gabe and Alexis Fields for Shanée.
