Book Review: The Planner

Happy Monday! I hope you had a great bookish weekend.

I’m kicking off the week with one of my reads from last week. The Planner by Jess Mastorakos releases on the 23rd. Be sure to add it and book one to your TBR pile! Go ahead and grab a cup of tea (or coffee) and read my thoughts below!

About the Book

She’s my best friend’s sister, which makes her off-limits. So why can’t I stay away?

I’m a master at hiding my true feelings for Aria Bristol. Well, except for that one time. That one kiss. She almost figured me out then, and I vowed to never let it happen again.

The fact that we were separated by thousands of miles helped a lot. But now that I’m back, all I can think about is recreating that kiss from high school. And that’s bad, because if I know anything, I know she deserves so much better than me.

But she’s fierce. Feisty. And she knows me better than anyone. I don’t know how much longer I can keep up this act. And the scariest part of all? I’m not sure I want to.

The Planner is the second book in a sweet, small town, military romance series. Each book is a standalone romance but they are fun to read in order!

My Thoughts

pin me

I eagerly read The Planner. How could I not? The cover is gorgeous, it’s book 2 in the Beaufort Bride series (loved book one), and it’s Jess Mastorakos, an author I’ve read most (or all) of her books.

I love the brother’s best friend trope and was eager to see how this played out. Will has a complicated past that also adds to the dynamic and keeps him from pursuing Aria (love her name).

I love the moment when he decides she’s worth it. I also really loved the moment her brother finds out. Each moment brought out different emotions in me and that’s one thing I always like about Jess Mastorakos’ books. The emotions and feels I get.

This is a clean romance and military one to boot. I definitely think it should be on everyone’s TBR pile. Happy reading!

*I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. My review was not required nor influenced.
