Toni: Welcome, Sharee! I’m so glad you’ve stopped by to talk about your book. But first, let’s talk about what your writing process is like.

Sharee: I always wanted to be a pantser and write freely without all that plotting nonsense. Turns out, I’m a plotter to the nth degree. I write a complete synopsis before I do anything else and it’s my roadmap throughout the rest of the book. But the great part of that is I know where I’m going and what’ll happen next at all times. So, once I’ve trudged through the dreaded synopsis, my fingers are free to fly across the keys to make the story come to life.

Toni: I’m so sorry (from a pantser to a plotter). Tell us a little about your story?

Sharee: Grave Christmas Secrets is my fourth book with Love Inspired Suspense and so far, it’s my favorite. I did more research on this book than any other before it and I had an absolute blast! I even met with a real forensic anthropologist and visited all of the places I have my characters travel to in the story. My heroine is quirky and brilliant and my hero is romantic and fiercely brave. Does it get better than that?

Toni: How cool! What would be the verse that fits your story and why?

Sharee: 2 Samuel 22:29, “For thou art my lamp, O Lord; and the Lord will lighten my darkness” is the scripture in the book. I chose this verse because it’s a great reminder that no matter what darkness we face, God’s always with us, lighting our way, and reminding us we are never alone.

Toni: What a great verse! What message do you hope readers will get out of reading your story?

Sharee: First, don’t be afraid to walk through your fears. My heroine, Taya McGill, has a genuine fear of the dark, and rightly so after all she’s been through. But she doesn’t let that stop her and when she has to walk through her fears and face them head on, and yes, I’m mean and make her do just that, she rises to the challenge.

Next, life is full of second chances. One bad experience can leave its ugly mark, but it doesn’t have to have the final say.

Lastly, God can use anything for his glory. Even pain and tragedy. And when He does, He can make all things beautiful.

Toni: Amen! Why should a reader choose your books if this is the first time they’ve heard of you?

Sharee: Pick me! Pick me! I love to combine the page-turning, edge-of-your-seat suspense with the thrill of falling in love. I believe in strong heroines and complimenting heroes and the essence of faith woven through the story.

Toni: Perfect reason to pick you. 🙂 Last but not least, how can we pray for you?

Sharee: This is the most humbling and touching question and I love that you asked. Prayer is what makes the community of Christian authors uniquely connected and the most wonderful of all writing groups.

I’m in the midst of writing a new proposal so that’s always challenging and exciting. I would love prayers for wisdom.

Toni: I’ll definitely be praying for you! Readers, do you have any additional questions to ask?
