Happy Thursday!
A lot of people are beginning to get in the Christmas spirit thanks to the Christmas movies premiering on Hallmark. Today we have Nancy Naigle talking about her throwback book, Christmas Joy and it will be premiering on Hallmark!!
Take it away, Nancy!
Hey, y’all. Nancy Naigle here. I’m a USA TODAY Bestselling Author of over 30 books. I was born and raised in Virginia, but now I call North Carolina home. I’m so excited Toni offered me the chance to share a “throwback” novel with you.
Christmas Joy came out on Oct 18, 2016. Hallmark optioned the book for a movie that aired last year. Needless to say, the book and movie are pretty different, but I love them both. Being on the movie set was amazing. Seeing my word come to life had me in tears, and when those snow machines fired up and those snowflakes were flying around me…it was magical!
It’s hard to fit an 88,000-word novel into a screenplay that’s only about 20,000-words! Yes, secondary character plot lines are removed, and some change completely. The good news is in both formats you get a beautiful, heartwarming story of love, hope and second chances. Read the book (available in trade paperback, audio, digital and mass market paperback too at https://amzn.to/2VOkZZm ), then set your DVR to watch the movie. It’ll air on Hallmark Channel:
- Friday October 25 4:00 PM
- Wednesday October 30 2:00 AM
- Sunday November 10 10:00 AM
- Thursday November 14 12:00 AM
- Sunday November 24 8:00 AM
I can’t wait to hear what you love most about each story.

Oh…and one lucky winner will win an autographed copy of the trade paperback. Sorry, US only. (Readers, please leave a blog post comment in order to be entered for a random drawing.)
About the Book
Joy Holbrook might be all work and no play, but that changes when her Aunt Ruby takes a bad fall before the holidays. Now it’s up to Joy to run the family farm, even though the timing may hinder her chance at garnering the promotion of her dreams.
Ben Andrews isn’t your average accountant. He also happens to be the handiest man in Crystal Falls. He’s helped his elderly neighbor, Ruby, decorate for the annual Christmas Home Tour―and win―the last several years. He’s not about to let some drop-in niece break their winning streak.
And then there’s Molly. When Ruby asked Joy to help take care of her, Joy assumed Molly was the name of one of the barnyard bunnies…until a young girl shows up in need of a babysitter. Soon, Joy partners with Ben not only to help with the Christmas tour but to look after Molly. As the three spend more time together, Joy finds her career-driven heart dreaming of a family―one that looks a whole lot like the one she, Ben, and Molly have already created.
