Happy Tuesday!
I hope your week is going well. I’ve been enjoying my reading this month and wanted to share a book review for Lynette Eason’s Code of Valor. Have you started reading the Blue Justice series? This book may just be my favorite!
About the Book
What Detective Brady St. John really needs is a relaxing vacation. Unfortunately, just as the sun is setting on his second day at a friend’s cabin on Lake Henley, he hears a scream and races to rescue a woman from her would-be killer. When the killer escapes only to return to finish the job, Brady vows to utilize all of his many resources to keep her safe–and catch those who would see her dead.
Financial crimes investigator Emily Chastain doesn’t trust many people. And even though she let the detective who saved her life in on a few pertinent facts about why she was being attacked, there are some things you just don’t share with a stranger. Little does she suspect that the secret she is keeping just might get them both killed.
Bestselling and award-winning author Lynette Eason sends readers on a race for the truth in this heart-stopping story of risk, regret, and redemption.

My Thoughts
Lynette Eason is one of my favorite romantic suspense authors. When she says she has a book coming out, I’m already looking for the release date and anticipating getting the book in my hand. That was no different with Code of Valor.
From the opening scene, I was hooked. There was plenty of action in this novel, that kept me turning the pages and holding my breath. Even my oldest son noticed how enthralled I was. Then again, it was probably because I was cooking dinner while reading. 😉
But the action isn’t what kept me glued. I loved seeing those sparks of attraction and the thoughts of Emily and Brady as they tried to figure out if a relationship was worth the risk.
Brady will probably go down as one of my favorite romantic suspense heroes. He had a steadiness and a quietness about him that intrigued me. Add the uniform and the values he holds close and I was bookishly smitten. 🙂
I loved that Emily didn’t want to endanger others and that she maintained her faith throughout. Keeping faith when all seems to be falling apart around you is something Christians face. I loved watching Emily’s faith in action and how she inspired others.
All in all, Code of Valor is a hit and earns a 5-star review from me. Now to wait on book #4. 🙂
*I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. My review was not required nor influenced.
