Book Review: In Too Deep

Happy Monday, Reader Friends!

I’m so excited about sharing my book review of Lynn H. Blackburn’s In Too Deep. It officially releases tomorrow so you have time to get your eBook copy and have it waiting for you when you wake tomorrow! 😉

Let’s get started!

About the Book

When the dive team is called in to recover a body from a submerged car, they aren’t prepared to find an encrypted laptop–or an unsettling connection between investigator Adam Campbell and the dead accountant.

Adam turns to his friend Dr. Sabrina Fleming–a professor at the local university with unparalleled computer security and forensics skills–to recover the files from the laptop. But the deeper they dig, the deadlier the investigation becomes. When evidence uncovers a human trafficking ring and implicates members of Adam’s own family, he and Sabrina will have to risk everything to solve the case.

The truth could set hundreds free–but someone is willing to do whatever it takes to silence anyone who threatens to reveal their secrets. Award-winning author Lynn H. Blackburn invites readers back to Carrington, North Carolina, where everything is not as it seems and sinister elements lurk behind the idyllic façade.

My Thoughts

Y’all In Too Deep gripped me! When this happy piece of book mail arrived in my box, I couldn’t wait to read it. Of course, I had to wait until the kiddos went to sleep, but once they did I entered Carrington, North Carolina.

There is so much that goes on. Not just suspense wise. Not just romance wise. But let’s solve a crime that’s more complex than anything you can think of. I LOVED it!! I had to make myself go to bed at midnight–I have kids I must sleep–but I woke up extra early to finish and boy am I glad I did.

I did not see what was coming. I mean I knew something was coming because of the amount of pages left (thank goodness the back didn’t trick me with extras), I just didn’t know what. And when that what was revealed–whoo! All in all, I was happy with this read even more than I was with book 1, Beneath the Surface. And I eagerly await book 3!

*I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. My review was not required not influenced.

**I would happily rate this a 5 and reread it again for my favorite parts.

About the Author

Lynn H. Blackburn loves writing suspense because her childhood fantasy was to become a spy—but her grown-up reality is that she’s a huge chicken and would have been caught on her first mission. She prefers to live vicariously through her characters and loves putting them into all kinds of terrifying situations—while she’s sitting at home safe and sound in her pajamas!

Her Dive Team Investigations series kicked off in March with Beneath the Surface. The second book in the series, In Too Deep, releases in November with the third book to follow in 2019. She is also the author of Hidden Legacy and Covert Justice, which won the 2016 Carol Award for Short Novel and the 2016 Selah Award for Mystery and Suspense. Lynn lives in South Carolina with her true love and their three children. You can follow her real life happily ever after at WWW.LYNNHBLACKBURN.COM and on FACEBOOKTWITTERPINTEREST, and INSTAGRAM.
