Happy Monday, Reader Friends!
I am absolutely excited for today’s interview. I’ve got the awesome Sarah Monzon with us today. Sarah is one of my favorite people and author! So make sure you take the time to read through this interview and my thoughts on Literarily For Keeps!
Toni: Thank you so much for joining me today. I love when you come and visit :). Literarily For Keeps has been written in the same vein as Bookishly Ever After. How did you get the idea for these novellas?
Sarah: The covers! I went about things a little backward with this series in that I saw the art and knew they’d make really cute covers and that I just had to write stories for them. Things developed from there. ❤
Toni: That’s amazing! And I adore the covers! If Literarily For Keeps was turned into a movie, who would play Ashleigh and Landon? What about Claire and Noah?
Sarah: For Ashleigh, I’m thinking a young Reese Witherspoon. Her sister, Claire, could be played by Kristen Bell. Landon would need to be played by someone bearded and rugged with green eyes. Maybe Chris Evans. Zac Efron would make a good Noah.
Toni: I love all these choices!! What is the message you hope the reader takes away after reading this novella?
Sarah: Not to stereotype or lump people together. Not to be so quick to judge others.
Toni: And don’t we all have a tendency to do so? A much needed lesson. Do you have any plans on writing more novellas like Liteararily For Keeps? If so, who will it be about?
Sarah: There is one more novella in the works titled Novelly Upon a Time. It will be Harper’s story.
Toni: I’m so excited! And I love all of these titles! Would you choose romance or historical fiction?
Sarah: Romance. Always. No matter the subgenre or time period.
toni: I cannot argue with that. Coffee or tea?
Sarah: Hot coffee but iced tea (sweet!)
Toni: Is there any other ice tea but sweet? Mountains or ocean?
Sarah: I love that I live in a place that has both. But if I had to choose, I’d probably go with mountains.
Toni: I’m going to be the opposite. Spring or fall?
Toni: Fall is lovely. Last but not least, what can readers do to support you on your writing journey?
Sarah: Reviews are like hugs to authors, so leaving a review is always appreciated!
Toni: Readers, do you have any questions for Sarah?!
About the Book
She only has to pretend to be married for five days. What’s the worst that could happen?
Literature professor Ashleigh Darmody never imagined her life would turn into a classic trope, but that’s exactly what happens when her sister Claire calls with a bizarre request–quickly find a fake husband. Backstory is a powerful thing, and Ashleigh’s has plenty of shadows, but is her past so shady that it requires an elaborate scheme to ensure Claire’s prospective father-in-law, renowned TV evangelist Ken Abrams, will give her his blessing to marry his son?
Already divorced from a man who turned out to be other than he claimed, Ashleigh now has to pretend to be blissfully married to a stranger for the next five days. But when the lines of fiction and reality blur with each tick of the clock, could a temporary deal turn into something for keeps?
Y’all, I absolutely adore Ashleigh and Landon’s story. From the cute cover, bookish title, and the story within, I was hooked! This book has all the feels! Laughter–I snorted a few times while laughing at some of the antics. Tears–the heartache Ashleigh and Landon carry is so very real. Romantic sighs–seriously, I adore romantic moments. The ones that you expect and the ones you don’t.
This book has it all and it’s so well done within this novella. I didn’t want it to end, but when it did I was ready to give it 5 stars.
*I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. My review was not influenced in any way.
