Happy Monday, Reader Friends!
I’m switching things up a bit and bringing you a review this Monday. Finding Evergreen by Jennifer Rodewald was released on the 22nd. It’s a great read–more thoughts on that below–so make sure you get it! Finding Evergreen is book three in the Grace Revealed series. You can find out more about Book 1 here and Book 2 there.
About the Book
The Blurb: “He thought he’d found the thrill of his life; she, the romance she’d hadn’t dared to hope for. Falling in love had been easy. Being married? Totally different story.
Married within a year of meeting, Ethan and Brandi add a foster daughter to their newly established family. Their story is enchanting—inspiring. Except when the fairytale fails. The stresses of unmet expectations and wounds from their pasts knife into their marriage, severing what they believed would be forever.
Hope for a broken marriage. Healing for their wounded spirits. It would take both to find evergreen. Are they brave enough to try?”
Review
Wow.
There’s a certain expectation that comes when you open a Jennifer Rodewald book. I open one fully expecting my heart to be entrenched and my life to change in some way. I’ve never not read one of her books without the desire to examine myself and where I stand with God, my faith, and those around me.
Finding Evergreen was no exception. It is quite obvious that God blesses Jennifer Rodewald with words because her stories are His stories. His truth for us, wrapped in a tale of Christian romance that is poignant as it is heart wrenching. As Finding Evergreen follows the tale of a married couple, you can imagine the potential heartache stored up in that one.
Anyone who has been married knows that not every day is filled with rainbows and sunshine. And honestly from the first few chapters, I wasn’t sure I wanted to walk through their storm, to empathize with the heartache of Brandi and Ethan. But it is a Jennifer Rodewald novel and I’ve never been disappointing before, so I pushed through.
And wow, just wow.
Finding Evergreen is a fitting title for a love we all search for. The reason we watch romance movies and read romance books. Yes, we often hope for that escape or entertainment, but usually the underlining reason is to see that everlasting love played out. Jennifer Rodewald goes behind the curtain so to speak and shows that through trials and tribulation, we can still find away. And God’s way is the only way any of us have a hope for that evergreen kind of love.
This is another must-read by Ms. Rodewald.
*I was giving a free copy from the publisher and not required to give a review. This review is my own, honest opinion.
About the Author
Jennifer Rodewald is passionate about the Word of God and the powerful vehicle of story. The draw to fiction has tugged hard on her heart since childhood, and when she began pursuing writing she set on stories that reveal the grace of God.
Jen lives and writes in a lovely speck of a town where she watches with amazement while her children grow up way too fast, gardens, and marvels at God’s mighty hand in everyday life. Four kids and her own personal superman make her home in southwestern Nebraska delightfully chaotic.

I have looked at Jennifer’s books but have not yet read any. This caught my eyes: “I’ve never not read one of her books without the desire to examine myself and where I stand with God, my faith, and those around me.” And this: “It is quite obvious that God blesses Jennifer Rodewald with words because her stories are His stories.” You definitely made me want to read her books now.
