My TBR Pile – Week of 1/30/17

Happy Monday, Reader Friends!!

Can you believe it? January is said and done? Can’t believe we’ll be entering the second month of the new year so soon. I’ll be bringing in the new month with books, of course. Care to share what you’ll be reading this week? If so, leave a comment!

Wrapped in Red by Meghan M. Gorecki

I’ve wanted to read this every since I saw the cover. In my pile it goes!

The Blurb: “A Steel City holiday romance sure to melt your heart.

The holidays haven’t been the easiest for Merry Grainger. Five years ago, she lost her grandfather and got dumped by her boyfriend right before Christmas. Each season since sees her determined to avoid getting hurt again, and so she keeps a steel-like grip on her hopeless romantic heart.

Music used to soothe Sam Shepard’s soul until the death of his biggest cheerleader broke his heart, family, and dreams into pieces. Now he’s focused on thriving in the city, and with the people, he’s grown to love—all to keep the hole in his heart from opening anew with every passing holiday season.

Thrown together by a church play and meddlesome family armed with mistletoe, will Merry and Sam unwrap their guarded hearts to let in the true hope of Christmas—and each other?”

Healing Gilvary by Andrea Boyd

Ms. Boyd’s my critique partner so I wanted to do some backlist reading. Love this series!

The Blurb: The crown prince would love nothing more than to make the newly appointed castle healer his wife, but she has no intentions of becoming the future ruler of Gilvary. Will he ever convince her otherwise?

Prince Reagan Barnali never expected to end up as ruler of Gilvary, but after the death of his father and older brother, he has no choice but to take the reins. He is worried about his mother who has suffered a break down in health since her husband’s death, and he also has the sole responsibility of his two younger brothers. Despite all of these burdens, he still has time to think about the only woman he has ever wanted to settle down with—Gwendolyn Alexander. He has somehow persuaded her to leave her home and come to Gilvary as the castle healer, now if he could just convince her into becoming his wife, it would make everything better.

Gwen jumps at the opportunity for a fresh start. There has been nothing wrong with her life up until now other than the fact that she has lived in her best friend’s shadow, and her father still sees her as his little girl. Can she really take on the job of healer? The flirting begins as soon as she arrives in Gilvary, but she is familiar with Prince Reagan’s bad-boy ways. Just when she finally surrenders her trust, trouble from his past arrives. A law enacted by his own father could force him to marry another. Could it be God’s will keeping Reagan and Gwen apart?”

Seaside Kisses by Stacy Claflin

I love winter covers so in my pile it goes!

The Blurb: People change, but some feelings last forever.

Rafael Hunter never thought he’d return to Kittle Falls, but life gave him no other choice. Los Angeles chewed him up, spit him out, and sent him back to square one.

Amara Fowler has lived in the small beach town her entire life. She’s overcome her shyness to grow into the woman she always knew she could be, but she never forgot her secret crush. When the alluring Rafael returns, he can’t help but stir in her a whirlwind of old feelings.

They’ve both changed so much. Has life kept them incompatible or has it molded them into a matching set?

Seaside Kisses is the fourth standalone in the Seaside Hunters collection, a series of sweet contemporary romance novels. If you like falling head over heels for characters as they fall for each other, then you’ll love the latest entry in this light, romantic series with just a hint of mystery.”

  1. This past month, I’ve read all of Jackie Zack’s books. Cute and fun reads. Just started Annette O’Hare’s Northern Light. Very engaging story.
