My Thoughts: The Power of One

Happy Saturday, Reader Friends!!

Thanks for stopping by to read My Thoughts on The Power of One. I’ve had a few instances this week that have stopped me in my tracks as a reminder on how important ONE PERSON can be.

In today’s society, we’ve become obsessed with numbers. Numbers is what tells us we’ve become successful, at least that’s what “they” say. But when you read the Bible, God tells us a different story. We see this in the parable of The Lost Sheep.

“What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.”
-Luke 15:4-7 KJV

I was reminded of this shortly after the inaguration. Considering the current climate, it seems like everyone is clamoring to be heard. To be considered right. Well, I had a friend seek me out to ask for my opinion–yes, I said, opinion because as much as I would like to be ‘right’, I know there are many facets to an issue. We had an open discussion, where each of us sought to understand the other.

Afterward, I was reminded that if I reached just one person and opened their eyes to another perspective that it matters. One person matters! This can be applied to any avenue in life. As a writer, of course I want book sales. Writing is a source of income for me. However, if I can reach just one reader, one heart, and show them the saving power of Christ, than it matters. One person matters!

I pray as you enjoy your weekend and refresh yourself from the busy week, that you remember your success is not measured on the multitude. Instead, it’s measured on connecting with that one person in need–whatever it is they need–and changing a heart toward Christ.

Be blessed and have a great weekend!

  1. One reader, one heart, show them who Christ is… I feel the same way. Whether in the multitude or one, glory be to God.

  2. And when it comes down to it, the most important thing is this. What do they “believe” about Jesus Christ? All other things in this world are secondary to that.

  3. Beautiful. It’s important for us to carry ourselves so others can see the Christ like behaviors so we can draw them closer to Christ Jesus.
