My TBR Pile – Week of 1/9/17

Happy Monday, Reader Friends!!

I’m surprised I rememebred to type ’17 instead of ’16. Anyone else having trouble remembering? Well, it’s a new year and I have a new set of books in My TBR Pile to read this year.

What about you? What are you reading this week?

A Moonbow Night by Laura Frantz

My book club is reading this one this month!

The Blurb: “After fleeing Virginia, Temperance Tucker and her family established an inn along the Shawnee River. It’s a welcome way station for settlers and frontiersmen traveling through the wild Cumberland region of Kentucke–men like Sion Morgan, a Virginia surveyor who arrives at the inn with his crew looking for an experienced guide. When his guide appears, Sion balks. He certainly didn’t expect a woman. But it is not long before he must admit that Tempe’s skill in the wilderness rivals his own. Still, the tenuous tie they are forming is put to the test as they encounter danger after danger and must rely on each other.

With her signature sweeping style and ability to bring the distant past to vivid life, Laura Frantz beckons readers to join her in a land of Indian ambushes, conflicting loyalties, and a tentative love that meanders like a cool mountain stream.”

The Calling by Rachelle Dekker

I read book 1 in the Seer series last month so I was happy to see my library had book 2.

The Blurb: “Remko Brant had never been so sure of anything as escaping the Authority City with Carrington Hale. But bravado comes easy when you have nothing to lose. Now a husband, father, and the tactical leader of the Seers, Remko has never had so much at risk.

As he and his team execute increasingly dangerous rescue missions inside the city, they face growing peril from a new enemy. Recently appointed Authority President Damien Gold claims to be guiding a city shaken by rebellion into a peaceful, harmonious future. But appearances can be deceiving. In order to achieve his dangerous ambitions, Gold knows he must do more than catch the rebels–he must destroy the hope their message represents . . . from the inside out.

With dissension in his own camp–and the CityWatch soldiers closing in–Remko feels control slipping through his fingers. To protect those he loves, he must conquer his fears and defeat Gold . . . before one of them becomes his undoing.”

An Uncommon Courtship by Kristi Ann Hunter

It’s here! Trent’s story! (Can you tell I’m excited?)

The Blurb: When her mother’s ill-conceived marriage trap goes awry, Lady Adelaide Bell unwittingly finds herself bound to a stranger who ignores her. Lord Trent Hawthorne, who had grand plans to marry for love, is even less pleased with the match. Can they set aside their first impressions before any chance of love is lost?”

  1. These all look great! I love having a list of books to read for a new year.
I’m not having any trouble remembering to write 2017, but I was having to stop myself from writing it in December. LOL

    1. Sometimes I feel like books surround me (which isn’t a bad thing). Hopefully I get to read all the ones I want to this year.
