Y’all I absolutely loved this novel. Now, I loved the first novel and was looking forward to this book, but whew…..Ms. Eason blew it out the water! This one has quickly surpassed Always Watching to land in my favorite pile by Ms. Eason.

Intrigue, romance, and the characters!!! I’m surprised I willingly went to sleep instead of pulling an all nighter.

So let’s start with the characters. Katie Singleton is one of the lovely bodyguards with Elite Guardians. Katie has some emotional issues — don’t we all — and when you find out why, grab the tissues!! But she’s not the only one battling with the trials of life. Daniel Matthews is being targeted by a killer and his niece, who he has guardianship of, could be in danger.

I tell you the suspense and threats swirling around Daniel made this read go by smoothly. Add the twists and turns and the thrill of the mystery to discover who did it and you have an engrossing read.

Ms. Eason also added scenes from Riley’s (Daniel’s niece) point of view. I LOVED it!! In fact, if Ms. Eason ever revisits Riley’s life I would love to see how she’s doing.

Y’all, the whodunnit game was FANTASTIC!! Just when you think you know who did it, Ms. Eason adds some twist to up the ante. The wind down of the suspense was probably one of my favorites because of it.

Oh and let’s not talk about the actual ending of the book. Y’all, did you keep the tissues nearby? You’re going to need it to navigate the ending. And best of all . . . there’s a preview in the back for book 3 which releases next year!

*I give this 5 out of 5!
