My TBR Pile – 7/25/16

Happy Monday!! I pray you had an awesome weekend of reading. I was able to read a few books, plus one I will share a review with tomorrow. But today, I wanted to share the books that will be on my TBR pile this week.

Oh, and before I do, starting next week I will be taking a little break from reviews. Instead, I’ll be sharing some interviews with some author friends. Now on to my pile.

Cathy Bryan’s A Bridge Unbroken

Picture

This will be my first read by Ms. Bryan.

The Blurb: Letting go to build a bridge…

Dakota Kelly wants her painful past to disappear. A plan to start afresh is derailed when she co-inherits her late grandfather’s farm with Chance Johnson, the man responsible for the scars on her heart. But Chance isn’t the only ghost from the past. Someone else is out to get her and will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Will Chance and Dakota lay aside their grudges to restore the old farmhouse and bridge, or will evil forces sabotage their attempt at forgiveness?“

Despite the tragedy that stands between them, Maggie and T.J. begin to fall in love, seeking answers and a healing spirit they may never achieve. “

Hidden by Shelly Shepard Gray

The cover immediately grabbed me and I had to add this to my TBR pile.

The Blurb: When Anna decides it’s time to leave her abusive boyfriend, she doesn’t know where to turn. Rob has completely won over her parents, and the entire community, with his good looks and smooth charm. Only Anna has seen his dark side.

Desperate, she runs to the only place she’s ever felt completely safe—the Amish Brenneman Bed and Breakfast, where Anna met life-long friend Katie Brenneman. The family welcomes her in, and with few questions asked allows her to stay, dressed in Plain clothing, and help around the inn.

Katie’s older brother Henry is the only one who doesn’t take too kindly to the intrusion. He tries to ignore Anna, knowing no good would ever come from caring for an Englisher like her. But as he gets to know Anna, he discovers her good heart and is surprised with her readiness to accept their lifestyle.

The more time Anna spends with the Amish, the more she feels she’s found a true home. But how can she deny the life she left behind? And will her chance for happiness be stolen away by the man from her past?“
