Now on to the review!

This is book 2 in the Jo Oliver series and it was just as great as the first one. If you haven’t read the first one, check out my review HERE.

(SN: Aren’t the covers fantastic?! I ADORE THEM!)

I loved seeing the people I fell in love with in the first book, Cleansed by Death. There’s Gino, always willing to give spiritual advice regarding life and matters of the heart.

Then there’s Nick, who is always there when you need him. Mitch, the stalwart right-hand. And of course, Jo.

This book picks up after the first one although Jo has new problems. It was interesting how she had to deal with trust regarding her friends as well as God. It’s amazing how matters of the flesh can parallel with the spirit. I loved watching her grow closer to God and realize how much she needed to place her life in His hands.

As far as the suspense aspect….WOW! I enjoyed guessing who dunnit and when it was revealed I was happy to see I was right. However, that in no way took away from the depravity and horror of the investigation Jo had to go through. Sometimes, people are just evil.

Ms. Finger does well weaving suspense throughout the novel. The suspense is integral to Jo Oliver’s story and her faith. The one thing that happened that I did not expect was the cliff hanger ending.

The ending left me floored and now I have to stare at the calendar or stalk Ms. Finger’s social media sites to find out when the next Jo Oliver book will release. *sigh* That’s the nature of awesome book series. 🙂

*I give this a 4 out of 5.
**I received a complimentary copy of this book from the Publisher in exchange for my honest review.
