My TBR Pile – Week of 4/25/16

Happy Tuesday, reader friends. I know, I know, some of you probably think I have my days mixed up. But no, I’m really sharing my TBR pile today.

Some of the books in my pile are for a review and some are just because I want to read them. What are you reading this week?

Janice Cantore’s Burning Proof

Picture

I’m a fan of Janice Cantore’s so I was delighted to see my library carried her latest novel.

The Blurb: After months of investigating the brutal homicide of a young girl, Detective Abby Hart finally has the evidence she needs. But when the arrest goes terribly wrong, Abby begins to doubt her future as a police officer. As she wrestles with conflicting emotions, old questions about the fire that took her parents’ lives come back to haunt her.

“There is proof.” PI Luke Murphy can’t stop thinking about what Abby’s former partner, Asa Foster, mumbled just before he died. When he uncovers a clue to the murder of Abby’s parents and his uncle, he’s reluctant to tell Abby, despite his growing feelings for the beautiful detective.

A decade-old abduction case brings Luke and Abby together, but will his secret tear them apart?“

Deborah Malone’s Buckhead Dead

Picture

I’ve never read one of Ms. Malone’s books, but I’m looking forward to it. I won this book at a Facebook party (gotta love ’em!).

The Blurb: Skye Southerland and Honey Truelove have just finished an interior design job for Sylvia Landmark, one of Buckhead’s most eccentric characters, and their designs are to die for. After a celebration at Sylvia’s home where they reveal the new décor, including a desk with a possible link to the pirate Blackbeard, Sylvia turns up dead, leaving the ladies wondering if this desk is worth more than they bargained for. Skye and Honey are now suspects in the murder of a woman who had few friends, and plenty of possible enemies. In an attempt to clear their names, Skye, Honey, and Honey’s loveable cousin Ginger embark on a journey to find the real killer, figure out the history behind the desk, and clear their names before they end up going to jail, or even worse, becoming the next victims! With plenty of warnings from Skye’s husband Mitch, and the ruggedly handsome Detective Montaine assigned to Sylvia’s case, these girls still manage to get right in the middle of the investigation, while having time to enjoy all that Georgia has to offer.

Charissa Stastny’s Bending Willow Trilogy

Picture

This series will be the first time I’ve read Ms. Stastny. I’ve signed up with SLB tours to do a blog review so never fear, a review will be coming. 🙂

The Blurb (from Book 1): Austan Sandoval has mastered the art of disguise and deception. After swindling millions from a Central American drug cartel, he discovers the location of the daughter of an Israeli Mossad assassin and determines to recruit her to his team. James Hinton serves the Lord as a missionary in Guatemala and sacrifices all to bring truth to those he meets. Suvi Goldstein seems like she has it all, yet secrets bind her to misery. When she tries to escape her past, she’s torn between violent men in one world and a kind, forgiving man in another as she battles darkness to discover the light within herself.

Purchase: Book 1, Book 2, Book 3
