My TBR Pile – 4/4/16

Happy Monday, reader friends! I pray you had a blessed weekend. I know I did. 🙂
I have some great reads on my TBR pile this week and I can’t wait to share them. What will you be reading this week? Let me know in the comments!

Nadine Brandes’ A Time to Die

I know this read has been on my TBR pile, but life happened and it ended up further down. But now I’ve started it and so I will finish it. 🙂

From the back cover: How would you live if you knew the day you’d die?

Parvin Blackwater believes she has wasted her life. At only seventeen, she has one year left according to the Clock by her bedside. In a last-ditch effort to make a difference, she tries to rescue Radicals from the government’s crooked justice system.

But when the authorities find out about her illegal activity, they cast her through the Wall — her people’s death sentence. What she finds on the other side about the world, about eternity, and about herself changes Parvin forever and might just save her people. But her clock is running out. “

Camille Eide’s Like a Love Song

I’m jumping up and down in joy since I get to read another Camille Eide book. My first read of hers, The Memoirs of Johnny Devine, introduced me to another must-read author. So of course I’m going to look forward to reading this one.

From the back cover: When she finally surrenders her heart, will it be too late?

Susan Quinn, social worker turned surrogate mom to foster teens, fights to save the group home she’s worked hard to build. But now, she faces a dwindling staff, foreclosure, and old heartaches that won’t stay buried. Her only hope lies with the last person she’d ever turn to—a brawny handyman with a guitar, a questionable past, and a God he keeps calling Father.

Like a Love Song is a romantic drama about a fiercely loyal woman, some cast-off kids, and finding the courage to believe in a love that never fails.“

Lynette Eason’s Rodeo Rescuer

As a fan of all things Lynette Eason, I didn’t even question adding this to my TBR pile. It was more of a what took me so long question.

From the back cover: “SHE CAN’T ESCAPE.

No matter where she runs, rodeo clown Tonya Waters’ stalker always finds her. Now he’s managed to track her down on the rodeo circuit. If bull rider Seth Starke hadn’t saved her, she’d be dead. But when the handsome cowboy is injured in the ring and Tonya rescues him, Seth seems more determined than ever to keep her safe. But can she risk staying at his Tennessee ranch and bringing danger to his family? As her stalker gets more violent, Tonya and Seth vow to outsmart him before he makes good on his ultimate threat: if he can’t have her, no one will.”

Elizabeth Maddrey’s Courage to Change

I read book one in Ms. Maddrey’s Grant Us Grace series awhile ago. I’m honestly not sure what took me so long reading this one.

From the back cover: Book Two of the ‘Grant Us Grace’ Series.

When Phil Reid became a Christian and stopped drinking, his hard-partying wife Brandi divorced him. Reeling and betrayed, he becomes convinced Christians should never remarry, and resolves to guard his heart.

Allison Vasak has everything in her life under control, except for one thing. Her heart is irresistibly drawn to fellow attorney and coworker, Phil. Though she knows his history and believes that women should not initiate relationships, she longs to make her feelings known.

As Phil and Allison work closely together to help a pregnant teen, Allison melts his defenses. But when Brandi discovers Phil’s new relationship, she decides that though she doesn’t want him, no one else can have him. Can Phil and Allison’s love weather the chaos Brandi brings into their lives?“

  1. Those look great! I just finish Handle with Care and House Rules, both by Jodi Picoult. I’ll have to try a few from your list next 🙂

    1. Nadine Brandes was the only new-to-me author on my list this week. I actually finished her book and wow what an emotional read. In my opinion, you can’t lose with this group of authors.
