All, My Thoughts

My Thoughts: A God Moment

Have you ever had a God moment? You know that moment you run into someone who confirms a decision you need to make, or answers a prayer that only God knew?

Well, I had such a moment. If you don’t follow my blog regularly, you may have missed the post where I shared that my oldest son was diagnosed with childhood absence epilepsy. It was a diagnosis that brought my husband and I relief, because it is treatable and my son will outgrow it. Because of this, he had to get a MRI done for his brain to make sure there were abnormalities (it was normal btw).

They sedated him so that he would be still and wouldn’t experience any claustrophobia. As I sat in the recovery room with him, I began talking to the nurse. This is where I had a God moment.

It reminded me of Hebrews 13:2, “Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels” (NKJV).
She was my angel. You see I had previously asked God what I should share with y’all. I heard the word’s provision, but I wasn’t sure in which way to go. Well this nurse, shared her provision story with me while I waited for my son to wake up and be ready to leave. While listening to her, I was reminded that God knows my need. That He hears my cry of provision. I don’t know when it will come, but when it does I know it is because of Him.

Sometimes, I think that is why we must wait. If we didn’t have to wait, didn’t have to persevere, what would we learn? Who would we give all the credit and glory to? Most likely, we would accept the praise and sing of our talents or skills. Yet, in the moments where the wait seems to stretch before us, where doubt wants to creep in, these are the moments God blesses us.

He blessed me that day in the hospital as the sweet nurse shared her stories. She looks back on her life and sees God’s handiwork in her life. Can you imagine? I believe it looks like a beautiful sunset. Think of each event in your life like a strip of color. In it’s singleness, it is plain maybe even boring, but put it together and you see His Majesty.

So wherever you are, whatever you are in need of, remember that God hears your cry. He has set events into motion that will bring you your manna. God loves you and will take care of you.

Matthew 6:25-34, “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof” (KJV).

  1. Waiting can be difficult. My son has mental health problems. I pray and pray for him, and have yet to see him healed. It is very hard to see and hear him, without an answer from God. I believe the answer will come, in Gods time, not ours. Blessings.
