I know Ms. Gray so I was excited to add this to my list. Plus, who doesn’t like a Christmas story to help you get into the holiday spirit? Plus, I absolutely love the cover.
Want to know what it’s about? Here you go: “Rylie Durham is used to dealing with all sorts of people and situations in her role as a Child Life Specialist at a local hospital.
Why, then, does Zach York bring out the worst in her? After all, he’s there to donate toys to the children she loves.
Could it be that she sees a kindred spirit in him? Rylie knows a thing or two about hiding a bruised heart from the world… and the danger inherent in blaming God for the hurt.
With December’s approach, Rylie enlists Zach’s help for a special undertaking — a Christmas formal for one of the pediatric units. As they work together on the project, she hopes to show him that, even when it’s painful, love is worth the risk…”
Ms. Dowdy’s novel was free when I downloaded it. I’ve also had the pleasure of meeting her, so I didn’t hesitate to add it to my eReader.
Here’s the back cover blurb: “Facing eviction, Rhea Morrison, a young grieving widow, must save her failing bakery. An unexpected turn of events lands her at a singles retreat where she meets Martin Lane.
Pastor Martin laments over his secret, traumatic past mistakes. He’s destined to lead his father’s church, despite blatant rejection. He can’t love Rhea – he’s yet to forgive himself for his past. If Rhea knew how he used to be, she would have no interest in pursuing a relationship with him.
Rhea feels torn about her attraction to Martin – he’s a pastor, and after her husband’s death, she vowed to never get involved with another pastor. Both Martin and Rhea struggle with their faith in God. Can Martin and Rhea overcome their past so that they’re free to love again?”
I was perusing Amazon and saw this novel. I’m a fan of military related novels since I served in the USAF. Ms. Conway is a new author to me, so I look forward to reading this.
Here’s what it’s about: “Whitleigh Haynes wrestles with the boundaries of her limited faith after an unexpected marriage proposal leaves her wondering what to say to longtime boyfriend, Collier Cromwell, now Army soldier, who’s asking her to leave everything she’s ever known, loved, and planned.
