Review: The Bound Heart by Dawn Crandall

It’s finally here, my review of Dawn Crandall’s second book in The Everstone Chronicles series, The Bound Heart.

With this story, Ms. Crandall has cemented herself as the Queen of historical romance (imo). The Bound Heart was so phenomenal I don’t even know where to begin for my review.
(Okay, deep breath.)

This book was so good, no one in my family could capture my attention. It was like they were talking through a fog. All I knew is I had to keep turning the page to find out what happens.

So since I’ve rambled on enough about my emotions, let me give you a little insight to why I’m walking around in a stupor wishing the book didn’t end but so glad I finished it.

Meredyth Summercourt is on a path for redemption. Guilt-torn by her past, she’s set her sights on Vance Everstone, praying for absolution of her sins. Enter Lawry Hampton.

Lawry, Lawry, Lawry. This guy is probably one of my favorite heroes of all time. Steadfast, faithful, loving, and a believer of God, there’s nothing you can say that would make me not like Lawry. He is that awesome! He woos Meredyth with an unfailing love that just makes you sigh and think of every heart-tugging ending in chick flicks around the world. I’m reminded of Jake Ryan saying, “Yeah, you!” Poetic!

Throughout the book, Meredyth Summercourt must come to understand what love is. Not just from the handsome Lawry Hampton, but from God. I tell this to people all the time, Love starts with God. If you can’t get that right, the rest of your relationships will suffer. Ms. Crandall answers this through the journey of Meredyth and Lawry.

But don’t take my word for it.  Go read it for yourself. It’s currently $7.99 on Kindle but it is now available for pre-order for Paperback!!! Paperback releases October 6th!!! I’m dancing a jig, I’m so excited.

Once you’re done reading, you will realize why I rated this 5 stars!!!! Now I’m ready for book three!

Happy Reading!!

  1. Thanks so much, Toni! I’m so glad you love my books! I really fell in love while writing them! And yes, Lawry. Sometimes I find myself praying that my son will grow up to be like Lawry Hampton. 🙂
