Review: “Bridge of Faith” by Catherine West

My heart has been knocked around my chest, dropped to the pit of my stomach, and warmed under the glow of a happy ending. Yep, I finished Catherine West’s “Bridge of Faith.”

Now I understand why I kept seeing this book over social media. It’s because it’s EXCELLENT.

So what do I have to say for this review that would interest you? Honestly, I don’t know where to begin. I hate spoilers but this is one of those books where you have to reveal some things in order to share the magnitude of the story.

“Bridge of Faith” is about a woman named Julia Connelly. Julia has been through the ringer. Married to an abusive man, she has no hope it will get better. Enter her ex, Reid Wallace.

Reid has suffered a traumatic event at work and takes time off to go back to his hometown of Bridgewater. When he runs into Julia, suddenly the answers that were missing become visible.

This book has it all. Ms. West gives us insight on abusive relationships, PTSD, sibling rivalry, etc. If that’s not enough to tug at your emotions, she deals with fear, anger with God, loss of hope, forgiveness and grace. I cannot express enough how engrossed I became. It took me two days to read this story but that’s because I had to go to sleep or risk the chance of falling over in exhaustion.

This book was real life wrapped in the grace of God. It teaches us that sometimes, when life looks bleak and you can’t find the silver lining, to hold on to God’s promises that all will work for the good of those who love Him.

*I give this 5 stars!
