Review: K. E. Ganshert’s “The Gifting”

If you follow my blog, then you know some of my book choices are due to rave reviews. I’m always looking for new reads and the more I hear about a book, the more interested I become. Am I the only one like that?

Well, “The Gifting” has been getting great reviews and thanks to my lovely friends and family, I was able to purchase it. (Gotta love gift cards to bookstores :)).

It’s been months since I purchased it but I couldn’t ignore those eyes any longer. Look at them! They’re begging you to open the book and read it. This is probably one of the best book covers I’ve seen in awhile. And I usually prefer ones without people. Anyway, I digressed.

I opened the book to settle down and was immediately sucked into another world. A world where religion is almost eradicated, those who are considered abnormal are put away or worse, terminated due to abnormal pregnancy screening.

All this is told through the eyes of teenaged Tess Eckhart. As any teenager, she wants so badly to fit in. However, she sees things other people don’t. She dreams things that aren’t considered normal. Then she meets Luka Williams, one of the popular boys. A guy who everyone wants to have in their circle. Funny thing, he wants to be in Tess’ circle because he’s not normal either.

I tell you, I was hooked from the get go. K. E. Ganshert is going to be the next big young adult author. If you haven’t read “The Gifting” what are you waiting for? Hop on over to her website for further information. And If you like great writing, hop on over to her women’s fiction site. Happy Reading!!
